Home / GenAI & Agentic AI Builder
Learn Python. Build GenAI Apps. Create AI Agents.
A hands-on program for anyone ready to build with AI. Start with Python and data libraries, then build LLM applications, a document Q&A assistant with RAG and your first controlled AI agent.
Duration
8 weeks
Format
Hybrid Smart Learning
Level
Beginner to builder
Finish with
Guided capstone project
Built for aspiring AI builders
Any background, any stream
Studying, just starting out or switching careers? Basic computer skills are all you need to start.
New to programming
Python is taught from scratch. You get two weeks of Python, OOP and coding practice before you touch an LLM API.
Ready to build
Already comfortable with code? Go further with LangChain, RAG and tool-using agents, and leave with a portfolio-ready project.
Your Journey, Step by Step
What You’ll Learn
Eight weeks in four phases. Every week ends with something you practise or build.
Python Foundations
W1
Python Fundamentals
Write your first Python programs with variables, collections, control flow and functions.
- Variables & data types
- Strings & formatting
- Lists, tuples, sets, dicts
- if / elif / else
- for & while loops
- Functions
W2
OOP, Coding Practice & Data Libraries
Structure code with classes, handle errors, then explore a small dataset with NumPy, Pandas and charts.
- Classes & objects
- Inheritance & encapsulation
- try-except
- Debugging practice
- NumPy & Pandas
- Matplotlib & Seaborn
Generative AI Basics
W3
Generative AI & Prompt Engineering
Understand what LLMs do, where they fail and how to write prompts that get reliable results.
- GenAI vs ML vs programming
- Tokens & context windows
- Hallucinations
- Context, task, constraints
- Few-shot examples
- JSON outputs
- Responsible use
W4
Working with LLM APIs
Send prompts from Python, read structured responses and handle errors safely.
- API keys & authentication
- Requests & responses
- Structured responses
- Error handling
- Keeping keys out of code
- Usage limits
Build GenAI Apps
W5
LangChain & GenAI Applications
Build summarisers, writing assistants and Q&A features with LangChain and prompt templates.
- LangChain
- Prompt templates
- Summarise & rewrite
- Explain Python / SQL code
- Consistent output formats
- Separating prompts from logic
W6
Document Q&A & RAG Basics
Answer questions from your own documents with retrieval-augmented generation.
- RAG flow
- Text chunking
- Embeddings
- Semantic similarity
- Vector store
- Grounded answers with sources
Agents & Capstone
W7
Improving Q&A & Intro to Agentic AI
Test and improve your Q&A app, then build a small agent that calls a predefined Python tool.
- Testing retrieval
- Unsupported answers
- Chatbot vs app vs agent
- Tools as Python functions
- Controlled workflows
- Human review
W8
Capstone, Presentation & Portfolio
Build and test a guided project from an OptnGrow brief, document it and present it.
- Project brief & features
- Build & test
- README & documentation
- Demo presentation
- Portfolio entry
- Interview practice
Talk through the curriculum with a mentor
Get a recommendation based on your background, plus batch timings and next steps.
- Review your current skills
- See sample projects
- Ask about schedule and format
Tools and frameworks you’ll use
- Python
- Jupyter Notebook
- VS Code
- NumPy
- Pandas
- Matplotlib
- Seaborn
- LLM APIs
- LangChain
- Embeddings
- Vector stores
AI projects you’ll build
Weekly practice builds up to a guided capstone you can demo, document and explain.
Python / LLM API / LangChain
Study Assistant
Summarise study notes and generate practice questions with an LLM, using prompt templates and structured output.
LLMs / Embeddings / RAG
Document Q&A Assistant
Answer questions from a set of supplied documents, show the source passage, and say so when the answer is not there.
Agentic AI / Tool Calling
Task Assistant Agent
An assistant that decides when to call a predefined Python function, uses the result and responds within clear limits.
By the end of the program, you can say
“I can write Python programs.”
Python · OOP · NumPy · Pandas · Matplotlib
“I can build an LLM-powered application.”
Prompt engineering · LLM APIs · LangChain
“I can build a document Q&A app.”
RAG · embeddings · sources
“I can explain my project in an interview.”
Demo · README · responsible AI

Program questions
Who can join?
Anyone who wants to build with AI, whatever their background or stream. Basic computer skills are enough to start, and Python is taught from scratch.
Do I need prior programming experience?
No. Python is taught in the first two weeks, before any GenAI application development begins.
How are classes delivered?
The program is fully online and hybrid. Core lessons are recorded, so you can learn at your own pace, and we add live online sessions for doubt-solving, project reviews and demos. A mentor shares the live-session schedule for your batch before you enrol, and supports your project work throughout.
Are projects included?
Yes. Every week has practice work, and the program ends with a guided capstone based on an OptnGrow project brief. You finish with source code, a README and a portfolio entry.
Will I receive a certificate?
You receive an OptnGrow completion certificate when you meet the attendance, submission and assessment requirements, which are shared before you enrol. It is not a government or university accreditation.
Are there any extra costs for AI tools?
Some LLM APIs and hosting tools charge for usage. We use instructor-approved, beginner-friendly options with spending limits, and a mentor will explain any costs before you enrol.
Can I speak with a mentor before enrolling?
Yes. Book a free counseling session and a mentor will walk you through the curriculum, projects and what to expect, with no obligation to enroll.
